This year\u2019s edition, centered around the theme of \u201cMystery,\u201d has once again become a unique space for dialogue between science, art, and philosophy. <strong>Sano at Copernicus Festival<\/strong> reflects our ongoing engagement with this interdisciplinary exchange, as the Centre for Computational Medicine joins as a partner, with two of our researchers contributing to the official program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer eplus-wrapper\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\" id=\"h-partnering-with-a-festival-that-bridges-science-and-culture\"><strong>Partnering with a Festival that Bridges Science and Culture\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">This year\u2019s Copernicus Festival explores the unknown \u2014 from the origins of the universe and the language of animals to the secrets of DNA, the hidden workings of the human brain, and the potential of artificial intelligence. Over six days, scientists, artists, and thinkers come together at the Museum of Engineering and Technology in Krak\u00f3w to reflect on what astonishes, unsettles, and inspires us in today\u2019s world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer eplus-wrapper\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\" id=\"h-sano-at-copernicus-festival-2025-where-science-meets-mystery\">Sano at Copernicus Festival 2025: Where Science Meets Mystery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer eplus-wrapper\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\" id=\"h-paulina-tworek-is-medicine-becoming-a-machine-s-job\"><strong>Paulina Tworek: Is Medicine Becoming a Machine&#8217;s Job?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">On Sunday, May 25 at 13:30, <a href=\"https:\/\/sano.science\/people\/paulina-tworek\/\">Paulina Tworek <\/a>(Postdoctoral Researcher in Personal Health Data Science) will give a talk titled \u201cSztuczna inteligencja na dy\u017curze. Czy lekarz to zaw\u00f3d wymieraj\u0105cy?\u201d She will explore how artificial intelligence is transforming modern medicine \u2014 from supporting diagnostics to guiding clinical decision-making. The session takes place at the Museum of Engineering and Technology in Krak\u00f3w.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer eplus-wrapper\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\" id=\"h-jan-k-argasinski-debating-machine-consciousness-and-media-appearances\"><strong>Jan K. Argasi\u0144ski: Debating Machine Consciousness and Media Appearances\u00a0<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Later that day, at 17:30, <a href=\"https:\/\/sano.science\/people\/jan-argasinski\/\">Jan K. Argasi\u0144ski<\/a> (Research Team Leader in Computational Neuroscience) will moderate a debate titled \u201cArtificial Intelligence: Is Anybody There?\u201d with W\u0142odzis\u0142aw Duch and Piotr Durka. The discussion will tackle some of the most provocative questions in AI: Can machines truly understand \u2014 or even become conscious?\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">As part of the festival\u2019s promotion, Jan K. Argasi\u0144ski gave an interview for Polityka and published an article in a special edition of Tygodnik Powszechny. He also spoke about the event in several media appearances, including Meloradio, Radio Krak\u00f3w, and on the national TV channel TVP2.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer eplus-wrapper\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\" id=\"h-among-world-class-guests\"><strong>Among World-Class Guests\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">This year\u2019s festival welcomes renowned figures such as Terry Sejnowski, a pioneer of artificial neural networks, Stanislas Dehaene, world-leading cognitive neuroscientist, and Zuzana Hofmanov\u00e1, an expert on the genetic traces of our ancestors. Copernicus Festival remains a unique space where biology, computer science, cognitive science, art, and philosophy converge.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer eplus-wrapper\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\" id=\"h-science-for-society\"><strong>Science for Society\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Launched in 2014, the Copernicus Festival has grown into a unique platform for dialogue between science, art, and philosophy.
