Organized by the Centre for Nature-Inspired Technologies, under the leadership of Dr. Barbara Pucelik and Director Miros\u0142awa Stelengowska, the event brought together leading researchers, industry professionals, and academic experts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer eplus-wrapper\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\" id=\"h-bio-medicine-4-0-shaping-the-future-of-drug-research\"><strong>(Bio)Medicine 4.0: Shaping the Future of Drug Research\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The seminar, titled <strong>\u201c(Bio)Medicine 4.0: The Future of Drug Research and Development in the Era of Emerging Technologies,\u201d<\/strong> aimed to explore how cutting-edge innovations are transforming both clinical and laboratory practices. The program featured presentations on the intersection of artificial intelligence, data science, and personalized medicine\u2014highlighting how advanced computational tools are revolutionizing healthcare.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer eplus-wrapper\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\" id=\"h-ai-in-drug-development-insights-from-sano\"><strong>AI in Drug Development: Insights from Sano\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/sano.science\/people\/adam-sulek\/\">Adam Su\u0142ek<\/a> from the Sano Centre for Computational Medicine joined the seminar as a representative of Sano, a research partner of \u0141ukasiewicz \u2013 KIT. As a postdoctoral researcher in the <strong>Structural and Functional Genomics Group<\/strong>, Dr. Su\u0142ek delivered a presentation titled <em>\u201cArtificial Intelligence in Drug Development: Prediction, Validation, and Translation of Biological Data.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">He discussed ongoing work within the <strong>Sonata project<\/strong>, which focuses on accelerating drug candidate selection using AI, particularly in the context of growing antibiotic resistance. Dr. Su\u0142ek also addressed the importance of <strong>explainability in AI models<\/strong> applied to medicinal chemistry, emphasizing the need for transparency in computational decision-making. By bridging fields such as AI, chemistry, and medicine, his presentation reinforced the importance of cross-disciplinary efforts in tackling complex healthcare challenges.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer eplus-wrapper\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\" id=\"h-cutting-edge-lab-technology-national-premiere-of-stellaris-crs\">Cutting-Edge Lab Technology: National Premiere of STELLARIS CRS\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">A key highlight of the event was the official launch of a new research laboratory equipped with Poland\u2019s first <strong>Leica STELLARIS CRS<\/strong> system. This state-of-the-art technology enables <strong>real-time chemical imaging<\/strong> of biological samples without the need for staining.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Using advanced techniques such as <strong>Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS)<\/strong> and <strong>Coherent Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering (CARS)<\/strong>, the system provides <strong>high-resolution, three-dimensional visualizations of cellular structures<\/strong> without fluorescent labeling. This breakthrough offers significant potential for more accurate, label-free, and personalized biological and medical research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer eplus-wrapper\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\" id=\"h-a-diverse-audience-academia-research-and-industry-united\">A Diverse Audience: Academia, Research, and Industry United\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The seminar brought together a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including representatives from top academic institutions such as <strong>Cracow University of Technology<\/strong>, <strong>Jagiellonian University<\/strong>, and <strong>AGH University of Krakow<\/strong>.
