Getting to Kraków

Here are some helpful tips on how to reach the city center after you arrive by plane or train.

Upon landing at Krakow Balice Airport, you have several transportation options:

Krakow Airport is served by three regular bus lines: 209 and 300 and one night line: 902. These are AGGLOMERATION BUS LINES – krakowairport.pl/en/passenger/transport-en/directions/from-to-krakow-airport. A bus can take you to the city center in about 40 minutes for 6 PLN. You can buy tickets at the bus stop outside the airport or on the bus itself, with both card and cash accepted.

A direct train to the main train station will cost 14 PLN about 20 minutes of travel time.

For navigating public transportation (bus, tram and train) in the city and from the airport, the jakdojade.pl app or website is invaluable. It offers up-to-date travel connections, directions, and the option to buy electronic tickets. Krakow’s public transportation is known for being reliable, punctual, and convenient.

A taxi ride costs approximately 90 PLN for an airport taxi. Both card and cash payments are accepted, and the journey typically takes around 30 minutes.

Additional transportation resources include:

  • MPK for local public transport,
  • PKP for national train services,
  • Balice Airport for Krakow’s international flights.
