Sano × Palace of Immortality – A Dialogue Between Science and Art

The collaboration between Sano – Centre for Computational Medicine and the Palace of Immortality is a meeting of two worlds — a fusion of science and art in a space where questions about the body, technology, and identity gain a tangible dimension: technical, bodily, and social.

This partnership is more than just a dialogue between two institutions — it’s an encounter between realms that rarely intersect. Our shared goal is to explore what it means to be human in a digital age: where do the boundaries lie between reality and simulation, memory and data, subjectivity and algorithm

Digital Twins and the Modeling of the Human Body

Sano brings to the project its advanced expertise in digital modeling of the human body. We create virtual representations of the organism — from simulations of physiological processes to the development of so-called digital twins, which help us understand not only how biological systems function but also the mechanisms of disease and potential treatment strategies.
In our approach, data is more than numbers — it is a tool for deeper insight into human biology, a means of diagnosing and responding to illness, and a carrier of knowledge, emotion, and meaning

The Body as a Process: Open, Transformable, Hybrid

As part of our collaboration:

  • We experiment with the concept of the body, treating it as a structure open to change — using computational models, regenerative technologies, and digital avatars.
  • We transcend the boundaries between biology and technology, seeing the human being as a complex hybrid of organism, code, emotion, and machine.
  • We create a space for reflecting on the future, raising questions about the ethics and accessibility of modern technologies — will they serve everyone, or only a selected few?
  • We turn data into emotion, combining Sano’s analytical tools with the performative practices of the Palace — to show that even numbers can move, disturb, and provoke thought.

A Reflection on the Future: Who Is Technology For?

Together, we are building a space where the body, technology, and identity become subjects of experimentation, reflection, and transformation. But our aim goes further — we strive to open up a broader conversation about the future.
We ask questions often left outside the lab and the gallery: Who will benefit from technological progress? Is it a project for the few, or a shared space of collective responsibility and experimentation?

When Data Becomes Emotion

At the heart of this collaboration is the attempt to transform data into emotion. By blending the analytical methods of Sano with the performative strategies of the Palace of Immortality, we aim to show that information can do more than inform — it can resonate emotionally, unsettle, and provoke critical reflection.
