Research Grant and Project Manager 

 

At Sano we are developing the Grand Office Team. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Grant and Project Manager to support the development, implementation, and administration of research projects and grant applications.  

This position combines strategic project management with hands-on involvement in identifying funding opportunities and preparing competitive grant proposals.  

As the Research Grant and Project Manager, you will play a key role in acquiring funding from national and international sources (including Horizon Europe and ERC programs). Working hand in hand with researchers and other Sano teams, you will ensure the financial sustainability and strategic growth of the centre. You will report directly to the Head of Grant Office and cooperate within an experienced team. 

 

What are you going to do? 

The ideal candidate will work closely with principal investigators, research teams, support staff, and external partners to ensure the successful execution of grant activities, from proposal development through project completion. 

Your key responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate and manage research projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met. 
  • Identify national and international funding opportunities relevant to the institution’s research areas and support researchers in preparing, writing, and submitting grant applications. 
  • Ensure compliance with funding agency requirements, legal provisions, and co-financing agreements throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Preparation of project reports, budgets, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Liaise with funding agencies, collaborators, and institutional offices (e.g. finance, legal, HR) to support grant administration. 
  • Develop project plans, risk assessments, and communication strategies for complex, multi-partner initiatives. 
  • Support the dissemination of research results, including publications, presentations, and outreach activities. 

 

What do we require? 

As our successful candidate you should have: 

  • Higher education degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) preferably in science, economics, public administration, social sciences or related. A PhD is a plus but not required. 
  • Proven experience in research project management and/or grant writing. 
  • Strong understanding of the academic or R&D environment and funding mechanisms (e.g., Horizon Europe, FNP, NCN, NCBR, etc.) ideally with experience in international research projects. 
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills. 
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are an asset. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. 
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. 
  • Proficiency with project management tools and office software (e.g., MS Office, Jira, MS Project, Trello, etc.).

  • Salary depending on experience: 11 000 – 13 000 PLN gross monthly. 
  • Possibility to work in a hybrid-mode – working remotely from anywhere in Europe with regular visits to Krakow, relocation support if required.
