Moments from the Krakow Conference on Computational Medicine 2025

A look back at the first edition of KCCM, where AI and the Virtual Human Twin inspired an exchange of ideas across disciplines.

The first edition of the Krakow Conference on Computational Medicine (KCCM 2025) is now behind us! Held on October 15–17, 2025, in Krakow, the event gathered researchers, innovators, and enthusiasts exploring the theme “Enhancing Virtual Human Twin with AI Solutions.”

The opening day featured a focused programme of hands-on tutorials that set a shared methodological foundation for the community: BRAIN-GUT: Brain–Gut Axis and How to Study It, CACTUS: Explainable AI for Knowledge Discovery and Classification, HPC: Your Journey to HPC and Beyond. A Guide to Research at Scale with the Model Execution Environment (VVUQ), LEGAL: Implementing Intelligence: Legal Challenges in Creating AI Solutions – a platform for sharing experiences, VR: Virtual Reality for Medical Data Visualisation and Interaction, and VVUQ: Scaling up your VVUQ Workflows. Practical Automation with EasyVVUQ and Dask on HPC; these workshops preceded two days of talks and discussions.

Organised by the Sano Centre for Computational Medicine, the Faculty of Computer Science, AGH University of Krakow, and the Academic Computer Centre CYFRONET AGH, the conference brought together a vibrant community of experts working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data science, and medical research.
