New issue of Sano News is out!
Our first spin-off, a save-the-date for KCCM 2027 and a new podcast episode.
The latest issue of Sano News — the monthly update from Sano Centre for Computational Medicine — is now online. Here is a taste of what is inside:
- Our first spin-off is here — NEUREVEAL. The first company to spin out of Sano, built by our own scientists Luca Gherardini and Rosmary Blanco around their research. It pairs AI with EEG to bring earlier, more affordable detection of dementia closer to everyday clinical practice — and more spin-offs are already in the pipeline.
- Save the date — KCCM 2027. The Krakow Conference on Computational Medicine returns for its second edition on 22–25 June 2027, under the theme “Towards digital twins in virtual human twin environment,” co-organised by Sano, the AGH Faculty of Computer Science and ACC Cyfronet AGH.
- New research in Nature Portfolio. A study in npj Biofilms and Microbiomes, co-authored by Sano scientists, explores the gut–brain axis and points to a tentative link between bacterial “functional amyloids” and neurodegeneration, including Parkinson’s disease.
- Twin Things Podcast #9: “Why Is Medical AI So Hard to Trust?” Sano’s Jan Fiszer unpacks what it really takes to turn a raw medical scan into an AI model that doctors can rely on in a real hospital.
