The recent meeting of an international consortium working on the “NEARDATA: Extreme Near-Data Processing Platform” took place in the amenities of Barcelona Supercomputing Centre, one of the project participants, on 22-23 January 2024. During the meeting, the consortium planned the first releases of software, future publications, and preparations for the project review. 

As a part of an international consortium working on a project “NEARDATA: Extreme Near-Data Processing Platform” supported by the European Union Horizon program, Sano is contributing to the development of a pipeline for building transcriptomics atlas of selected tissues/diseases, with the use of HPC and Cloud technologies.

It has been only 6 months since the launch of the NEARDATA project, but Sano already has demos of working software! Members of the Extreme-scale Data and Computing team: Maciej Malawski, Piotr Kica, Sabina Licholai, and Jan Przybyszewski, successfully demonstrated the demos during the M6 NEARDATA meeting at the Dresden University of Technology, 12-13 June 2023.  

Sano is now a part of an international consortium working on a project “NEARDATA: Extreme Near-Data Processing Platform” supported by the European Union Horizon program. The project’s kick-off meeting happened on 10th of February 2023 at University of Rovira i Virgili (URV) in Tarragona, URV is the coordinator of the project.
