Finance Specialist

Sano Centre for Computational Medicine is a new International Scientific Foundation located in Kraków, Poland. 

Sano aspires to be a major translational scientific institute, operating at the meeting point of academic science, established MedTech industry, and emerging start-up environment, combining the best of these three perspectives. 

Established with support from the European Commission and the Foundation for Polish Science, Sano aims to be a major driving force behind the advancement of computational medicine for the benefit of healthcare systems worldwide. 

Sano acts as a core technology and expertise provider for industry, and creator of innovation, developing state-of-the-art solutions for healthcare. Thanks to the substantial funding and excellent European partnership network, Sano will bring critical mass to this transformational field of research, in order to translate scientific advancements onto clinical practice. As a cross-disciplinary institution, Sano uses machine learning/artificial intelligence (ML/AI), large scale computer simulations, data science, and other computational technologies towards overcoming global challenges in healthcare systems. The research agenda will be executed in close collaboration with Partners in Poland, EU and USA.

As a member of the Sano financial team you will help with the key financial processes by coordinating the work-flow of important documents, monitoring the implementation of budgets continuous assistance with everyday financial tasks.  

You will work in an international environment and you will be responsible for the coordination of distribution of financial data between different departments. You will be assisting Sano employees in preparing necessary financial documentation. 

You will work in a fast-growing research organization, so you need to be open to continuous development and professional challenges.

• Contract of employment for 3-month trial period (followed by an extension), with a salary in range of 7000 – 8000 PLN gross);

You will be responsible for: 

• Monitoring of funds disbursement based on the Sano accounting system; 
• Monitoring the implementation of detailed Sano budgets based on current documents (orders, invoices, other); 
• Preparation of materials for deliverables created in the Sano project and financial data necessary for reporting to the relevant reporting bodies and the European Commission; 
• Preparation of documents and coordination of the correspondence flow of document description;h 
• Assistance in the preparation of monthly and periodic financial statements and reports; 
• Material flow monitoring within budgets; 
• Preparation of data on assets for financial statements; 
• Archiving the documentation kept in accordance with applicable regulations. 

We require the following: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting; 
• At least two years of experience in finance or accounting services; 
• Good knowledge of MS Excel; 
• Good knowledge of financial systems (Comarch Optima will be an additional advantage); 
• Knowledge of English and Polish sufficient for smooth interaction with English/Polish-only speakers and working with documentation (both reading and writing).
