Insigneo/Sano Modelathon: Computational modelling to improve management of ischaemic stroke

Modelathon 2026 (Hybrid Sheffield–Kraków): Multiscale Modelling for Ischaemic Stroke

Event details

When: Tuesday, 13 January 2026, 9:00 — Friday, 16 January 2026, 17:00

Format: Hybrid (Sheffield ↔ Kraków)

Venues: The University of Sheffield, 32 Leavygreave Road, Sheffield S3 7RD; Sano Centre for Computational Personalised Medicine, Kraków

Description
Modelathon returns in 2026 as a hands‑on, team‑based sprint in computational modelling and simulation. Inspired by hackathons—but focused on building and validating models rather than “hacking” code—multidisciplinary groups will tackle clinically grounded challenges in parallel at the Insigneo Institute (University of Sheffield) and the Sano Centre in Kraków. This year’s theme spotlights multiscale methods (0D, 1D, 3D) applied to the management of ischaemic stroke, linking rapid prototyping with translational insight across HPC and reproducible workflows.
