Alicja Wojciechowska

Junior Research Specialist

Alicja is a bioinformatician that aims to tell stories by analysing biological data. She holds Master diplomas from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology in Bioinformatics and Big Data Analytics and is finishing her PhD there. The particular focus of her PhD thesis were microbial proteins secreted by our gut bacteria and their role in neurodegeneration. Apart from that, Alicja has worked on various topics including virus mutations and epidemics spread, pathogenesis of carribean brain-eating amoeba and analysis of protein structures and sequences. Currently, she focuses on interdisciplinary analysis of microbiome data. Privately, she enjoys good tea accopmanied by a long boardgame.
