Computational Intelligence
Martyna Sommer
Junior Research Specialist
Martyna obtained an Engineer’s degree in Applied Mathematics with a specialization in Data Analysis from the Cracow University of Technology. In her engineering thesis, “Homomorphisms and Isomorphisms in the Analysis of Data Structures,” she explored mathematical structure theory in the context of relational database schema analysis, bridging abstract algebra with practical data modeling.
At Sano, she works on developing LLM-powered knowledge graph construction pipelines for clinical data. Her work focuses on transforming unstructured electronic health records into structured Neo4j knowledge graphs using local large language models, semantic embeddings, and graph-based modeling. Her research interests include knowledge representation, graph-based reasoning, explainable AI, and the intersection of mathematics and machine learning in healthcare applications.
Outside of research, Martyna is a basketball player currently competing in a Kraków-based club. She loves reading—especially fantasy literature—and enjoys travelling and discovering new cultures.
