Sylwia Bożek and Tomasz Kościółek join the board of the Polish Bioinformatics Society
Starting in January, two Sano researchers will join the Polish Bioinformatics Society’s board.
We are proud to share that starting in January 2026, two of our colleagues – Sylwia Bożek and Tomasz Kościółek – will serve as members of the board of the Polish Bioinformatics Society (PTBI). This is a significant recognition, as PTBI is one of the most important institutions shaping the bioinformatics landscape in Poland, bringing together more than 160 members nationwide and fostering collaboration at the intersection of bioinformatics, computational biology, and the life sciences.
About our representatives
As a Junior Research Specialist in Sano’s Structural and Functional Genomics Group, Sylwia Bożek advances data-driven genomics and reproducible research practices.
Leading the same group, Tomasz Kościółek brings extensive experience in team leadership, community building, and open science to support the Society’s initiatives.
Why this matters
Through PTBI, researchers, early-career scientists, and industry partners connect while promoting national events, training, and standards in bioinformatics. With Sano represented on the board, the Society gains closer ties to computational medicine and translational genomics—helping to accelerate the path from innovative methods to clinical and scientific practice.
Congratulations
We warmly congratulate Sylwia Bożek and Tomasz Kościółek on this achievement. Their appointment is not only a personal success, but also a proud moment for Sano.
