In recent years, the integration of neuroimaging techniques, particularly the combination of EEG (Electroencephalography) and fNIRS (functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy), has gained significant interest in neuroscience research. These methods offer unique insights into specific neurophysiological mechanisms, each providing distinct spatial and temporal perspectives on brain activity. 

This research investigates the advantages of multimodal neuroimaging through EEG and fNIRS data. It aims to assess whether integrating multiple sources of information provides deeper insights into the underlying physiological mechanisms of brain function. Additionally, it explores how the spatial and temporal dynamics of electrical and hemodynamic activity are influenced by the brain’s underlying structure, considering their different sensitivity to various physiological mechanisms across different timescales.
