A new paper co-authored by Tomasz Kościółek, Research Team Leader of the Structural and Functional Genomics Group at Sano, has been published in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology. 

The study titled “A Systematic Review of Maternal Microbial Transfer in Cesarean-Delivered Newborns” (authors: Jan Jurgiel, Tomasz Gromowski, Joanna Król, Dorota Bomba-Opoń, Tomasz Kościółek, Mirosław Wielgoś) reviews existing research on maternal microbial transfer and explores approaches aimed at restoring the natural microbiome in infants born via cesarean section. The findings highlight potential benefits in microbial diversity and the safety of the procedure, while emphasizing the need for further research.
