Sano Representation at ICCS 2026
Sano researchers to present their work in Hamburg
ICCS 2026 — the International Conference on Computational Science — will take place from June 29 to July 1 at the DESY research center in Hamburg. This year’s program features presentations and initiatives involving researchers from Sano.
Three papers by Sano authors
Wiesław Nowiński will present the paper “A personalized brain atlas for everyone: unlocking new frontiers for individuals, humanity, science, and artificial intelligence,” which will be published in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series (Springer). The work introduces the concept of a personalized brain atlas and explores its potential applications in medicine and artificial intelligence research.
Kamil Woźniak will present two papers focused on the use of federated learning in healthcare: “Rule-Based Federated Learning for Healthcare” and “Vasculitis Outcome Prediction Using Machine Learning and Federated Learning”. Both studies propose new methods for analyzing medical data while preserving patient privacy.
Sano researchers co-organize quantum computing track
One of the conference’s thematic tracks, Quantum Computing Thematic Track, is co-organized by Karol Capała and Katarzyna Rycerz (both from the Department of Computer Science and ACC Cyfronet AGH in Kraków) and Marian Bubak (Sano Centre for Computational Medicine and ACC Cyfronet AGH). The track will cover topics such as quantum algorithms, hybrid computing methods, machine learning, and the integration of quantum computers with supercomputers. More information is available at qcw2026.agh.edu.pl.
Sano’s presence at an international forum
The participation of Sano researchers both in the conference program and in the organization of a thematic track highlights the centre’s active role in the international community of computational science and digital medicine.
