AI‑Guided Antibiotic Discovery for Hard‑to‑Treat Wound Infections

Adam Sułek showcases computational medicine research on AI-driven antibiotic discovery at a leading European drug development conference in Berlin.

On 15–16 June 2026, Adam Sułek represented Sano at Discovery & Development Europe 2026, held at the Estrel Congress Centre in Berlin, one of Europe’s key meetings for drug discovery and development. As part of the poster programme, he presented his work titled “AI-Guided Antibiotic Discovery for Hard-to-Treat Wound Infections”, focusing on how advanced artificial intelligence methods can accelerate the identification of novel antibiotic candidates for challenging wound infections.

Discovery & Development Europe brings together leaders from pharma, biotech, academia, and technology to explore the future of therapeutics, from AI-enabled discovery platforms and target validation to new modalities and formulation and delivery strategies. In this context, Adam’s contribution highlighted the role of computational medicine in addressing antimicrobial resistance and in designing more effective treatments for complex infectious diseases.

The presented research is closely aligned with Sano’s mission to develop innovative computational methods, algorithms, and technologies for personalised medicine and to introduce simulation-based diagnostic and therapeutic solutions into clinical practice. By applying AI tools to antibiotic discovery for hard-to-treat wound infections, the project exemplifies how Sano’s interdisciplinary teams work at the intersection of data science, modelling, and clinical needs to help clinicians provide better, more tailored care for patients.
