Defence of the PhD thesis of Mahmoud Nasr

Defence of the PhD thesis of Mahmoud Nasr

On Friday, 6 November, Mahmoud Nasr (PhD Student in Computational Neuroscience at Sano) will present his research on noise characterisation and image enhancement in medical tomography at AGH University of Krakow. The defence will be public and open to online participants.

Mahmoud Nasr will defend his doctoral thesis before the Council of the Scientific Discipline of Biomedical Engineering at AGH University of Krakow. His thesis is titled “Advanced Preprocessing and Hybrid Strategies for Noise Characterization and Image Enhancement in Medical Tomography”. It deals with noise in tomographic images, which can hide important details, and with methods that help describe this noise and improve image quality.

The thesis was supervised by Prof. Adam Piórkowski (AGH University of Krakow) and Krzysztof Brzostowski, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The reviewers are Prof. Krzysztof Okarma (West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin), Michał Podpora, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor at the University of Opole, and Aleksandra Świetlicka, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor at Poznan University of Technology.

The defence will be held in hybrid mode, so everyone interested will be able to join in person or online.
