Position Title: PhD Student – Linking Eye Movements and Brain Function to Monitor Stroke-induced Alterations with fMRI
Requirements:
The PhD Student position will be realized at Sano and funded through Sonata-20 Grant of dr. Cemal Koba: Linking Eye Movements and Brain Function to Monitor Stroke-induced Alterations with fMRI.
The successful candidate for the position needs to:
- Have a Master’s degree in a relevant field: computer science, computational neuroscience, biomedical engineering or similar;
- Be enrolled in a doctoral school and realize a topic with significant relation to the Linking Eye Movements and Brain Function to Monitor Stroke-induced Alterations with fMRI project.
- Have at least basic knowledge and practical skills in coding;
- Have practical experience with handling large dataset;
- Familiarity with the structure of f/MRI datasets (DICOM, NIFTI) and related software (e.g. FreeSurfer, FSL, AFNI, Nibabel)
- Have an interest in neuroscience research;
Tasks:
- Conduct collaborative research in computational neuroscience.
- Help with the data processing and analysis, conduct tasks related to quality control, postprocessing, algorithm development, and writing academic papers.
- Participate in project meetings and collaborate closely with the supervisor and other students.
- Support grant writing and project reporting activities. Prepare scientific publications and take part in international conferences to present the project outcomes.

Employment Conditions:
- The involvement in the project will be based on a PhD scholarship agreement for a period of 24 months.
- Planned start date: 01.10.2025

- A scientific scholarship of PLN 5000 per month will be paid in accordance with the rules outlined in the NCN Regulations on Awarding Scientific Scholarships in Research Projects Funded by the National Science Centre (Annex to NCN Council Resolution No. 25/2024 of March 4, 2024).
