Przemysław Korzeniowski and Sano’s Innovations at the 26th NFIC Workshop
For over a quarter of a century, Kraków has served as a premier hub for world-leading experts in interventional cardiology. The 26th edition of the international New Frontiers in Interventional Cardiology (NFIC) workshop once again united cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, radiologists, and vascular specialists to explore groundbreaking innovations shaping cardiovascular care.
Sano’s Virtual PCI Simulator in Action
Among the participants was Przemysław Korzewniowski, Research Team Leader of Medical Imaging and Robotics and Head of the VR & Robotics Lab at Sano Centre for Computational Medicine. He showcased Sano’s affordable virtual PCI training simulator, designed to help medical students and early-career cardiologists build essential procedural skills. The tool generated strong interest during the Simulation Workshops organized by Adriana Zlahoda-Huzior from SimHub.
“The simulator was successfully stress-tested during the Simulation Workshops, and it was truly rewarding to see such strong engagement—especially from young clinicians and students, for whom this tool was designed,” said Przemek following the event.
Event Highlights and Sano’s Role
This year’s NFIC, one of Europe’s leading conferences dedicated to innovations in cardiology, gathered over a thousand participants, including cardiologists, surgeons, radiologists, and vascular disease specialists. The program featured live-in-the-box clinical case presentations, expert panels, and sessions on imaging, structural heart disease, and cutting-edge diagnostic technologies.

Sano’s involvement as a supporting partner highlights its dedication to advancing digital tools for medical education and fostering ties with clinical cardiology experts. By bridging computational medicine with hands-on training applications, Sano is helping revolutionize interventional practices and skill development for the next generation of specialists.
