Sano backs young quantum explainers
We are a strategic partner of "Quantum Computing for Everyone" 2026/2027.
Sano is a strategic partner of the new edition of the “Quantum Computing for Everyone” competition organised by the Quantum AI Foundation. Secondary school and university students in Poland can submit their work until 7 January 2027. Among the prizes awarded in the competition will be the special Sano Prize, recognising the best popularisation of quantum technologies in medicine.
Every MRI scan relies on quantum physics. The scanner works because atomic nuclei in the body respond to a strong magnetic field in a way that only quantum mechanics can describe. Still, for most people words such as qubit, superposition or entanglement belong to a world that seems distant and abstract. The Quantum AI Foundation wants to bring that world closer, and Sano supports this goal as a strategic partner of the 2026/2027 edition of the competition “Quantum Computing for Everyone” (“Informatyka kwantowa dla każdego”).
Explaining quantum in your own way
The competition started on National Education Day in Poland (14 October) and is open to secondary school and university students, who compete in two separate categories. Their task is to explain an idea from quantum computing in a way that would also make sense to friends, family or classmates. The organisers leave the choice of form to the participants. A text, a video, a comic, a poster, a game or an app are all welcome, as long as the work helps others understand the topic.
Entries can be submitted until 7 January 2027, and participation is free of charge.
Why Sano supports the competition
At Sano, we develop computational methods that help personalise diagnosis and treatment, from computer simulations and digital twins to artificial intelligence. Progress in this field depends both on new ways of computing and on people who can explain them well to doctors, patients and the public. By supporting the competition, we want to encourage young people to see medicine as a place where physics, computer science and biology meet.
The competition is organised by the Quantum AI Foundation. Its partners are QPoland, IBM, the Lesser Poland Branch of the Polish Information Processing Society (PTI), Sano and AIQLAB Institute.
