LSBC 2025: Innovation and Investment in Life Sciences
Held in Kraków on October 30–31, 2025, the 12th Central European Life Sciences Conference (LSBC 2025) gathered investors, entrepreneurs, and researchers from across Europe to discuss innovation and funding in a changing economic landscape. Under the theme “DNA of Capital,” the meeting focused on how science, business, and investment can cooperate to strengthen the life sciences ecosystem.
Across lively discussions and panel sessions, participants considered how biotech and healthcare innovators navigate economic uncertainty, shape sustainable business models, and form lasting partnerships across borders. Voices from both the investment and startup worlds echoed a shared message: transparency, collaboration, and trust are essential foundations for growth. Education, leadership, and access to capital emerged again and again as the catalysts that turn ideas into impact.
Innovation took center stage on the second day, with a showcase of emerging technologies and a startup pitch competition highlighting new approaches to diagnostics, digital health, therapeutics, and AI. Pikralida captured the 2025 LSBC Pitch Award — along with a scholarship to the Executive MBA in Life Sciences at BBI Cambridge. Throughout the day, sessions on breakthrough drug discovery and medtech reflected a region brimming with creative energy and momentum.
As a Strategic Partner, the Sano Centre for Computational Medicine played a visible role at this year’s gathering. Director Maciej Malawski and Roland Kozłowski opened the conference with words of welcome, setting a collaborative tone for the days ahead. At BBI Cambridge, Dominik Czaplicki joined the jury of the Company Pitch Competition. In the Commercial Session, Dominik Stosik guided a lively discussion, while Katarzyna Baliga-Nicholson spoke on “Poland’s bet on AI and Digital Twins in healthcare.” Meanwhile, Paulina Tworek chaired the session “Investment, public money and business.” Tomasz Gubała tooks part in the networking activities, fostering new connections and strengthening Sano’s international collaborations.
Through vibrant dialogue and open exchange, LSBC 2025 reaffirmed Central and Eastern Europe’s place as a dynamic hub for innovation — a region where science, entrepreneurship, and investment converge to shape the future of health and technology. As a Strategic Partner, Sano contributed to this shared vision, strengthening ties between research and industry across the region.
