Members of the Krakow Entrepreneurship Council at Sano Centre

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, the Sano Centre for Computational Medicine hosted members of the recently established Krakow Entrepreneurship Council (krakow.pl Krakowska Rada Przedsiębiorczości powołana), including Jacek Liguziński – Director of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department of the City of Krakow, Żaneta Bugajska-Moskal – Department of Sustainable Development, City of Krakow, and Professor Maciej Szaleniec from the Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The main purpose of the meeting was to develop the “City of Krakow’s Support Program for Business Initiatives of Krakow Scientific Institutions”. Following the welcome address, Sano Director Maciej Malawski presented an overview of the Sano Centre activities. Sano Center members Magdalena Otta, Rosmary Blanco, Luca Gherardini, and Tomasz Gubała then presented their efforts to create new business units based on their research findings. This was followed by a discussion on the Krakow Research Institutions Business Initiative Support Program (attached). The results of this discussion will soon be presented and sent to the entire Council. Finally, our guests visited Sano’s research teams. The meeting was organized at the initiative of Marian Bubak, who has become a member of the Krakow Entrepreneurship Council.
