NEED selected for KRK InnoTech Demo Day
Luca Gherardini and Rosmary Blanco will present their startup project, NEED (Neuromonitoring EEG for Early Detection of Dementia)
On June 25, Luca Gherardini and Rosmary Blanco will present NEED at the Grand Finale of the KRK InnoTech Starter and Hub Innowacji Małopolska programs.
NEED (Neuromonitoring EEG for Early Detection of Dementia) aims to simplify and accelerate dementia screening through EEG-based neuromonitoring and advanced data analysis. The team’s vision is to make detecting dementia easier than performing a blood test, enabling earlier intervention and improving patient outcomes.
Participation in the KRK InnoTech programs has provided the team with an opportunity to refine the business model, validate the value proposition of NEED, and further develop the project with the support of mentors and innovation experts. Over the course of six months, the idea evolved through intensive mentoring, pitching sessions, and continuous iteration, ultimately earning a place among the eight teams selected for the final Demo Day.
The event will give the team an opportunity to present NEED to a jury of investors and venture capital representatives, as well as to members of the wider innovation ecosystem. In addition to competing for the main awards, the finalists will have a chance to connect with investors and industry stakeholders and receive recognition from the audience through the Audience Favorite Award.
By bringing together expertise in computational medicine and entrepreneurship, NEED exemplifies how scientific ideas can be translated into innovative solutions with the potential to support earlier and more accessible dementia detection.
The event is open to the public, and participation is free upon registration.
