The director of Sano, Dr. Maciej Malawski and Dr. Olav Zimmermann from Forschungszentrum Jülich, a teaming partner of Sano took part in a crucial discussion on the future perspectives of the Widening programme with experts from EU institutions, practitioners, and national stakeholders.

Karol Capała, a PostDoc researcher at the Personal Health Data Science team received the best award in the competition for the best doctoral thesis based on Cyfronet's computing resources.

While the world only gets used to living with Artificial Intelligence, scientists from Sano are working on overcoming its shortcomings.

Dr. Jose Sousa, the research leader of the Personal Health team took part in a panel “Partnership and International Cooperation” at the event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of CCG/ZGDV applied research Institute in Braga, Portugal.

On the occasion of World Sight Day, celebrated annually on 12 October, Queen's University Belfast will present a poster that is a result of the collaboration with scientists from Sano: Dr Jose Sousa and PhD student Luca Gherardini.

Joanna Kaleta and Szymon Płotka, PhD students at the Health Informatics team of Sano took part in the MICCAI 2023 Challenge of Workflow Recognition in Endoscopic Pituitary Surgery (part of EndoVis Challenge) and won it in the category of “Multi-class instrument recognition”.

Eleven PhD students from Sano spent a week on a special training program organized by The University of Sheffield, a partner of Sano in the Teaming for Excellence program. Research exchange for PhD students is one of the objectives of the Teaming program, it aims at the active engagement of researchers in the international scientific and innovation community. The educational event for Sano students was organised by the University of Sheffield for the third time. The event took place from 4 to 8 September.
