It is great to announce that Aneta has joined Sano Centre as Senior Postdoc. Her main scientific interest is working with wearable sensors to detect health conditions and monitor patients’ wellbeing.

On October, 27th we will lunch Sano Meetup series. As Sano Science we created an umbrella page at Meetup for events related to OpenScience, Neurotech, DIY-Bio. We want to promote and organize events from live hacking to scientific conferences and create at the same time a space for undergrad students to help them to connect with researchers and companies of the field.  

Maciej Malawski has over 20 years of experience in research in parallel and distributed computing, high performance computing (HPC), grid and cloud technologies, serverless and container-based infrastructures.  

Students of professor Maciej Malawski, leader of one of the Sano Centre research groups, have succeeded. Filip Ślazyk and Przemysław Jabłecki took 3rd place in the engineering thesis competition that accompanied the KKIO Software Engineering Conference 2021.

Transhumanism – lecture and debate on the 40th anniversary of the Polish Information Society with the participation of Sano Centre. 

Dr Arkadiusz Sitek has been appointed the President of the Management Board and Director of Sano – Centre for Computational Medicine in Krakow since the beginning of 2021. From the 1990s, he developed a scientific career at Canadian and American universities, institutes, in an international companies and corporations. After more than a quarter of a century, he decided to return to Poland, to create Sano – Centre for Computational Medicine.

XXII KKIO Software Engineering Conference will be organized online from Krakow on 21-22 September 2021. One of the Keynotes Speakers at forthcoming edition will be Dr Arkadiusz Sitek. Director of Sano Centre will give his speech on the second day of the conference. 

Dr Arkadiusz Sitek will take part in the 4th Radiological-Clinical Conference entitled "Artificial intelligence in medicine - opportunities and threats for imaging diagnostics". The director of the Sano Centre will deliver a lecture entitled "Implementation of artificial intelligence in the work modes of radiologists".

Brain Lesion (BrainLes) workshop co-organized by Sano Science Computer Vision Team Leader dr Alessandro Crimi is a satellite event of the International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) that will take place on September 27th, 2021.

We are happy to announce that Dr Alessandro Crimi has joined Sano Centre as Research Team Leader of Computer Vision Data Science.

Sano Centre for Computational Medicine has become a new supporting member of Polish Hospital Federation (PFSz). The cooperation will be based on the exchange of experiences and contacts in the area of solutions ​​design for specialists in the field of clinical medicine.

Sano Centre has published a paper Artificial Intelligence in Positron Emission Tomography presenting an industry perspective on this issue. It was written by a team of authors led by Arkadiusz Sitek, Ph.D., Director of Sano Centre.

The official opening of the second office of the biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca in Poland is planned for the beginning of July. The investment was located in the vicinity of the AGH University of Science and Technology, in the building belonging to this university. As part of the company's development, close cooperation with Sano – Centre for Computational Personalised Medicine - International Research Foundation is planned.
