Sano took part in Poland Business Run 2022
On Sunday, 4th September, the 11th edition of the charity Poland Business Run took place in Kraków. Sano Science team had got 2 representations: Sano- Innovation Team & Sano- Passion Team! We’re proud of them!
Personal changes in Sano
With the beginning of August, Maciej Malawski, PhD became the new Sano’s director. At the same time, Tomasz Gubala was announced as Executive Director. Congratulations and good luck in the new positions!
The first neuro summer school N3S2 is over
The five days of wonderful time, inspirational lectures, vivid talks, and practical workshops is over. The brain issues, neuroscience stuff, neuroimaging cases and computer sciences were widely discussed in beautiful surroundings of Lipari Island. The vibe and the energy were amazing! That was delightful to meet again in person and have possibility to networking and exchange the ideas.
Four Sano students received master’s degrees in Computer Science – Data Science!
We are happy to spread the information that yesterday four Sano Science students graduated from the Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza w Krakowie with a master’s degree in Computer Science – Data Science!
Personal Health team presented at summer school in Ávila, Spain
As Sano Science we were present at the 17th International Summer School on Training And Research On Testing TAROT 2022. Alfredo Ibias from Jose Sousa's Personal Health Data Science team had a presentation about Sano’s work and projects.

Poster award in San Diego
We are happy to announce that paper “Multi-institutional evaluation of a deep learning model for fully automated detection of aortic aneurysms in contrast and non-contrast CT” authored by Arkadiusz Sitek with colleagues from IBM and vRad Virtual Radiologic (Yiting Xie, Benedikt Graf, Parisa Farzam, Brian Baker, Christine Lamoureux) received poster award cum laude at SPIE Medical Imaging Conference in San Diego.
Sano’s publication accepted for IROS 2022 in Japan
It is our pleasure to inform you that paper written by Przemysław Korzeniowski, Arkadiusz Sitek, Szymon Płotka (all from Sano), and Robert Brawura Biskupski Samaha entitled “Virtual Reality Simulator for Fetoscopic Spina Bifida Repair Surgery” has been accepted for publication in the Proceedings of the 2022 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2022), Kyoto, Japan. The IEEE/RSJ IROS is a top-tier conference (A rank) in Robotics.

AI in medicine conference
On June 14, the second edition of the “AI in Health” conference will be held in Warsaw, Poland. It is the first event on such a large scale in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to artificial intelligence and innovation in health. Sano will be actively take part in the event!

AI models to predict the course of AAV created in Sano
Our scientists, in recent cooperation with POLVAS (Polish Vasculitis Consortium), created two AI models to predict the course of ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV), a rare autoimmune disease, which, when left untreated, may cause death or severe deterioration of patient's quality of life.
Internal workshop
The end of May provided an opportunity to meet in the office at the Sano Center to participate in training together. On Friday, 27th of May, all Sano employees had a possibility to take part in the session entitled: "Introduction to Official and Intercultural Communication Etiquette Training". After the lecture and Q&A session, we had a group work and occasion to discuss current issues.
