Sano at the PTK Heart Failure Association Conference 2026

Showcasing a technology that transforms cardiology training - V001

In mid-June, Kraków will become a meeting place for specialists focused on one of the greatest contemporary challenges in cardiology – heart failure. The annual Conference of the Heart Failure Association of the Polish Cardiac Society is not only a review of the latest scientific advances, but also a space where theory meets practice and where innovative technologies begin to genuinely influence how physicians are trained and how patients are treated.

Among the participants will be representatives of Sano.

Tomasz Gubała will lead a workshop dedicated to modern methods of training future interventional cardiologists, presenting an innovative solution that supports the development of practical procedural skills.

Practical workshop at the Barbican

On Saturday, 13 June, a workshop titled “Coronary catheterisation simulator supporting the training of future interventional cardiologists” will take place in the historic Barbican. The session will be highly interactive – in addition to a live technology demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to work hands-on with the device.
This will be a unique opportunity to explore a modern approach to medical education that combines advanced technology with real clinical needs.

A new dimension of procedural training

The simulator presented during the workshop is an advanced, portable system designed for training catheterisation procedures in conditions that closely resemble real-life practice. The device uses authentic clinical instruments – catheters and guidewires – which are integrated into an immersive virtual environment.
Thanks to haptic feedback, users can feel realistic resistance and tool response, enabling faithful reproduction of coronary angiography procedures. The system bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and daily practice in the catheterisation laboratory.

Learning from real clinical cases

The simulator is based on advanced physical models and anatomical data derived from real patients, covering a wide spectrum of clinical scenarios. This allows users to develop key competencies such as precise manipulation of guidewires and catheters, administration of contrast, and avoidance of typical procedural errors.

Special emphasis is placed on patient safety and on making informed decisions in line with current procedural standards.

One of the key cardiology events in Poland

The PTK Heart Failure Association Conference is a leading forum for exchanging knowledge and experience in the field of heart failure and cardiomyopathies. Its mission is not only to present the latest scientific findings, but also to provide practical training for physicians and entire therapeutic teams.
The programme covers topics related to modern pharmacotherapy in line with current guidelines, the latest clinical evidence, innovative treatment methods, and therapies for rare diseases with cardiac manifestations. An important focus is also advanced heart failure, including appropriate qualification for mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation.
Each year, the conference attracts a broad group of specialists – from cardiologists and cardiac surgeons, through internists and family physicians, to residents, trainees, and medical students. Nurses, physiotherapists, and psychologists also take part, fostering interdisciplinary exchange and a comprehensive approach to patient care.
Sano’s presence and the presentation of an innovative simulator fit perfectly into this context, highlighting the importance of modern educational tools in the development of contemporary medicine.
