As Sano Science we were present at the 17th International Summer School on Training And Research On Testing TAROT 2022. Alfredo Ibias from Jose Sousa's Personal Health Data Science team had a presentation about Sano’s work and projects.

We are happy to announce that paper “Multi-institutional evaluation of a deep learning model for fully automated detection of aortic aneurysms in contrast and non-contrast CT” authored by Arkadiusz Sitek with colleagues from IBM and vRad Virtual  Radiologic (Yiting Xie, Benedikt Graf, Parisa Farzam, Brian Baker, Christine Lamoureux) received poster award cum laude at SPIE Medical Imaging Conference in San Diego.

It is our pleasure to inform you that paper written by Przemysław Korzeniowski, Arkadiusz Sitek, Szymon Płotka (all from Sano), and Robert Brawura Biskupski Samaha entitled “Virtual Reality Simulator for Fetoscopic Spina Bifida Repair Surgery” has been accepted for publication in the Proceedings of the 2022 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2022), Kyoto, Japan. The IEEE/RSJ IROS is a top-tier conference (A rank) in Robotics.

We are happy to share that Arkadiusz Sitek, Aneta Lisowska and Szymon Płotka from Health Informatics Research Group are among the authors of the paper entitled: “FetReg2021: A Challenge on Placental Vessel Segmentation and Registration in Fetoscopy”.

A special edition of the leading Data Science event in Poland dedicated to Machine Learning will take place on 21st-22nd June in Warsaw.

On June 14, the second edition of the “AI in Health” conference will be held in Warsaw, Poland. It is the first event on such a large scale in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to artificial intelligence and innovation in health. Sano will be actively take part in the event!

Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2022 is behind us. It was a great time and huge success! Time for a short summary.

Our scientists, in recent cooperation with POLVAS (Polish Vasculitis Consortium), created two AI models to predict the course of ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV), a rare autoimmune disease, which, when left untreated, may cause death or severe deterioration of patient's quality of life.

The end of May provided an opportunity to meet in the office at the Sano Center to participate in training together. On Friday, 27th of May, all Sano employees had a possibility to take part in the session entitled: "Introduction to Official and Intercultural Communication Etiquette Training". After the lecture and Q&A session, we had a group work and occasion to discuss current issues.

We are happy to inform that our two Sano teams have been entered for the Business Run!

The biggest event for women in Tech & IT in Europe is back in ONSITE formula.  Sano will be represented there too!

On the 18th of May an opening of a new AstraZeneca Pharma Poland office took place in one of the buildings located at Lubicz Street in the central part of Krakow.

We’re delighted to announce that four papers have been accepted for publication at International Conference on Computational Science (ICCS) 2022, London:

Almost two years have passed since the outbreak of the pandemic, during which hundreds of thousands of scientific publications related to COVID-19 have been published. Hence, can we say that we already know everything about SARS-CoV-2? Our scientists Ahmed Abdeen Hamed and Karolina L. Tkaczuk, in their latest article, published in Pharmaceutics, pose a bold question whether the combination of FDA-approved drugs may be considered as a candidate for COVID-19 treatment and provide specific answers to it. All this with using a computational framework that can undeniably revolutionize therapy planning and implementation of innovative treatments. 

According to the tragic events in Ukraine, we would like to cooperate with scientists from that country. We will invite students, postgraduates, postdocs, and faculty to cooperate.
